The Fairmont Miramar Hotel and Bungalows in Santa Monica is one of L.A.’s most storied and glamorous, known for its expansive courtyard, classic kidney pool, and the 132 year old Moreton Bay fig tree at its entranceway.

When hotel management decided to tear down the Fairmont’s existing restaurant and rebuild from scratch, they engaged Love and War to develop the new restaurant’s brand concept, website, and advertising.
  The result of our work is “Fig” - a seasonal bistro founded on principles of locally-sourced ingredients, simple renditions, and an atmosphere of understated sophistication.

The visual identity we developed for Fig reflects these principles in its elegant yet unfussy treatment. Our tag line: “Ingredients First,” evokes the restaurant’s founding concept in two words. And, our website and print ad campaign was the foundation of the restaurant’s successful launch in early 2009.
